Desert Mountain Elementary School is located across the street from Arroyo de la Reina. Grade school children should be able to walk to Desert Mountain Elementary School from Arroyo de la Reina. Desert Mountain Elementary School is located on Hawes Road, just south of Ocotillo Road.

Middle school aged children will attend Queen Creek Middle School. High school aged children will attend Queen Creek High School. Too far to walk to the Queen Creek Middle School or Queen Creek High School. Students either take a bus or get a ride from their parents.

Schools in Queen Creek are in 4 separate school districts. Schools within the official town limits of Queen Creek are governed by the Queen Creek Unified School District #95. Schools within the Pinal County limits just east of Ironwood are governed by the J. O. Combs Elementary School District #44. The Coolidge Unified School District runs the San Tan Heights Elementary School in the San Tan Heights subdivision off Hunt Highway. The Florence Unified School District runs the Johnson Ranch Elementary School and Walker-Butte K-8 School in Johnson Ranch. Copper Basin K-6 School and Skyline K-8 School (Skyline Ranch School) are also part of the Florence Unified School District.

My daughters attend New Vistas Academy , a wonderful private school in Chandler. Their curriculum is focused on reading, writing, math, social studies and science. Children as young as 2 and a half learn how to read. My oldest was reading 3 100+ page books in pre-Kindergarten. I highly recommend the school.
